Kennedy Walker (he/him) is a researcher pursuing a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Biology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he is a member of the Lloyd International Honors College, a Guarantee Scholar, and member of the Early Scientist Program. Born in New Jersey and raised in North Carolina, his work focuses on dismantling systemic barriers in healthcare and mental health, particularly for communities of color and LGBTQ+ individuals in rural communities. Kennedy’s research integrates social psychology and neuroscience to better understand mental health disparities and promote equitable, affirming care. He is currently conducting a qualitative scoping review examining passability and mental health outcomes among transgender women of color, alongside contributing to youth-centered public health on campus. He plans to pursue a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and continue advancing research that centers belonging and justice in mental healthcare.
