Kat Klucsarits
Kathryn (Kat) Klucsarits is a current undergraduate nursing student enrolled in the Honors in the Major program under the supervisory of her thesis director, endowed professor Dr. Henna Budhwani. Kat’s thesis, titled “Obsessions and Misconceptions: Stigma as a Barrier to the Diagnosis and Treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder,” explores a scoping review methodology to synthesize existing evidence, identify gaps in the literature, and examine implications for future research and nursing practice. Her Honors in the Major committee includes Dr. Rylan Douthett and Madeline Dougherty.
Kat is an out-of-state student originally from Canton, Georgia. She has remained actively involved on campus as a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and the Student Nurses’ Association, holding past leadership positions within both organizations. In addition to her academic and extracurricular involvement, Kat has worked part-time as a restaurant and event server at Golden Eagle Country Club throughout the duration of her undergraduate career.
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in Child Development, Kat has aspirations to begin her career working as a pediatric registered nurse following her anticipated graduation in December 2026. She hopes to gain experience in pediatric nursing, including opportunities as a travel nurse, before pursuing graduate education to become a pediatric nurse practitioner. Her long-term professional goals reflect her interests in pediatric health, evidence-based nursing practice, and continued academic and clinical development.
