Julia Brasileiro, PhD, MPH (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Institute on Digital Health and Innovation (IDHI). Dr. Brasileiro received her PhD in Applied Social and Community Psychology from North Carolina State University and an MPH and BSPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a community-engaged researcher focused on promoting the health and wellbeing of youth and young people. She seeks to understand how positive psychosocial factors and social relationships contribute to sexual and reproductive health and uses this evidence to inform behavioral interventions. Her NIH-funded dissertation research involved leading a mixed methods implementation science study to adapt a digital HIV/STI prevention intervention and identify barriers and facilitators to implementing the intervention within the child welfare system. Prior to her PhD, she worked at IntraHealth International managing global health projects focused on HIV prevention, family planning, and health systems strengthening. While at the IDHI, she is excited to be supporting the Resilient HIV Implementation Science with Sexual & Gender Minority Youths using Evidence (RISE) study.
